Designing and Delivering Training to Fit Your Needs

DMACC Business Resources (DBR) is a division of Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC). DMACC is Iowa’s largest community college with 6 accredited campuses and six centers.  DMACC has an enrollment of over 38,000 credit and over 30,000 non-credit students.

DBR provides a broad spectrum of training and consulting services including:

  • Professional Development for Managers and Supervisors
  • Technical Training
  • Safety / OSHA Training
  • Employee Workplace Skills
  • Lean for manufacturing and for the office (workplacelean)
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Waste Management and Control

DBR has been operating workplacelean since 2006 and is a recognized leader in the field. While Lean is most commonly associated with manufacturing processes, DBR’s workplacelean consultants have found that there are significant cost and time savings to be achieved in addressing inefficiencies in office processes as well. DBR’s workplacelean program works with educational institutions, manufacturers and government entities as well as other industries, including healthcare, financial services, insurance, information technology and non-profit institutions throughout the country.

I have been a professional Lean/Continuous Improvement Trainer and Consultant for Des Moines Area Community College since 2001. I am also a Certified Hypnotist & Hypnosis Instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists, a published author, and an Independent Certified Health Coach with Optavia. My passion is educating people to think better, work better, feel better, and be better!

As a Lean consultant/trainer I design user-friendly curriculum, train trainers, and lead process improvement activities throughout the country for all types of organizations including city/state governments, manufacturing, service organizations, higher education, and K-12 education in addition to DMACC's six campuses. I've conducted over 1300 training sessions in Lean and Leadership programs for over 150 organizations.

My lean knowledge and drive to educate others on process improvement stems from 15 years in manufacturing (Pella Corporation, 3M and Maytag) and more than 20 years as a consultant, trainer and educator.

My passion is to help people to improve what they do, how they do it, how they feel (mentally and physically), and help them reach their full potential. Hence my work as a Lean practitioner, hypnotist, author and health coach.
